Vancouver, BC

In March (better late than never!), I visited a couple cities in the Pacific Northwest, which include Portland, Seattle and Vancouver - and also San Francisco (why not, it's close by). I was in Vancouver for 2.5 days and it was raining most of the time, but the city left a good impression. People are friendly, sushi was cheap and amazing, public transportation was easy to navigate and the mountain views were amazing.

Can't leave Vancouver without going to Capliano Suspension Bridge.  During rainy season, the fog lingers around throughout the day. This makes for a super cool photo effect, but a bit terrified when I could not see the other side of the bridge.  Walking on the bridge was terrifying. The bridge swayed and it felt like it was going to flip! My knees were shaking when I walked across the bridge. And I made it across! Later I found out I had to cross back to leave the park.

Sushi in Vancouver is super cheap, even cheaper after the conversion rate. Plus, the sushi is delicious and fresh, especially salmon. I recommend Shizenya along Hornby Street. In fact, during my short stay, I ate at Shizenya twice!

Beaches in Vancouver are close to the city center.  Obviously I did not expect anyone at the beach in March, but locals tell me residents are at the beach all the time during the Summer.

I wish I had more time to explore Vancouver under better weather conditions. I would go hiking and explore other islands near the downtown area. I'll be back!
